Gen5 Dash noise

My wife noticed a ticking sound coming from the dash when she first accelerates and it then stops. After driving it a while i deducted that it may be coming from the Tachometer. 2006 Camry SE .........Is there still a cable in these newer cars, and if so, is there a way to quiet the noise. It is only at the lower RPM's,,,,just starting out...

Any help guys is much appreciated.

no tachometer will have a cable....it will be electric. the noise could be from the speedometer...GM cars were notorious for that many, many years ago. what was done back then was the cable would be disconnected at the transmission, and lube would be shot into it. that would quiet it down for a while, but then act up again, making for replacing the cable the thing to do.

so you can try lubing the SPEEDOMETER cable.....
