Not much. Is yours a vv6 or I4? New or used?

Have you lost your owner's manual or did you buy it used?

All you need to do to these cars as far as recommended maintenance before 10 years/100,000 miles - whichever occurs first - is cabin filter and air filter. Coolant is 100,000 miles, transmission fluid is synthetic World Standard with no recommended change date, and Iridium plugs go 120,000 miles.

Smartest thing to do now is take it to the dealer (powertrain warranty may be nearing 5 year expiration date) and have them change your oil & filter and check the air filter and cabin filter. Either can get very dirty before the 30,000 mile recommended replacement. Oil change "specials" from most dealers include checks of all fluid levels.

If your car is a V6 - make sure the vvt-i oil line recall has been done. If not, your car is a ticking time bomb for expensive catastrophic engine failure:

If your car is an I4, have dealer inspect the water pump for leaks from the pink coolant ....... these cars are notorious for bad water pumps:
07 Camry Water Pump

As for tire rotations, by now the tires have probably been replaced and usually you get freebies from whomever you bought the tires from. However, you may be about due for brake pads so make sure you get those checked ...... can make the cost of a tire rotation worth it if it keeps you from having worn pads eat into the rotors. Rotors are very expensive to replace.

I can confirm the water pump issue with the I4 engines....luckily I have the extended warranty and they replaced it no issues ~62k miles.

What do you mean replace "brake linings" specifically? I am curious as I never heard about this issue.

Slip of the brain, sorry. I meant pads, NOT linings. Drum brakes in older vehicles used to require linings on all four wheels (like ages ago) .... then many had front disc brakes, rear drum because it was difficult to engineer an emergency (parking) brake that worked. The last vehilce I had with rear linings was a 92 Toyota 4WD V6 pickup.

Have the brake fluid replaced. DOT3 and 4 brake fluid is hygroscopic[it absorbs moisture] and moisture in the brake fluid can corrode internal parts of the brake system. Regards

My car is going to have 45K-mile service soon. How do I know that my water pump needs to be taken care of. I found no leaking under the car. What is the cost for inspecting this water pump? Is water pump issue so common that it will eventually fail for my car?

My dealer charges about $90 for the alignment.

if you see whitish/pinkish residue anywhere near the water pump or on the hood (slings from the belt) than the water pump is leaking. also if it makes a lot of noise, the bearing is going on the water pump. yes, water pump is a very common issue on the I4 for some reason...

Cost of services for 07 I4 Camry - Jacksonville

Quote:

There are 8 Jacksonvilles in the USA. Assuming you are in Florida, like about every Toyota dealer, they have serivce specials that are typically cheaper than Jiffylube. [I notice you joined toyotanation in August so I am assuming you bought it used and don't have service records.]

Arlington Toyota (Jacksonville FL) has specials almost identical to where I take my car (Bob Tyler Toyota, Pensacola FL).

Here is your link and here is what you should make sure are checked and replaced if necessary and it should cost:

http://arlingtontoyota.calls.net/servicespecials3.htm

(plug in 30000 & 50000 miles to get all coupon prices)

Oil & Filter: $24.95 (same 29 minute in and out guarantee as my dealer)
Engine air filter if needed: $22.95 (no charge for labor, same as my dealer)
Wiper Blades: $19.90 (get this done for sure if you don't know when or if last repaced - all you need is a scratched windshield or to get caught in a downpour and unable to see the road)
Battery charge: This should be free and done automatically as part of oil change & inspection. Since your car over 4 calendar years old, remember that Florida heat is murder on batteries. New premium batteries are about $120 at deakers, $100 at Walmart ..... 5 year bargain batteries run about $70.
Cabin Filter: This is about the only classic dealer "rip." Dealer "special" price is $49.95. Double the cost of the oil change yet done in about 3 minutes. You can do it yourself in 5 minutes (maybe 10 if first time and not mechanically inclined). Instructions on how to replace it are in the owner's manual - filter is located in the glovebox. You can get them at WalMart or autozone for about $10 but the best replacement is a Fram Fresh Breeze http://www.framfreshbreeze.com/instr...7/TOYOTA/CAMRY - about $20 which catches everything - I put a new one in myself at 29k miles and when dealer checked mine at just about 40k miles ..... it was fllthy & disgusting so I went ahead and let dealer replace it at ripoff price.
Tire rotation & brake inspection: If you don't get "freebies" from wherever the last tires were purchased, dealers typically charge about $20 on top of an oil change. Their brake job coupon price of $109 per axle is pretty good in the event you need front brakes (unlikely unless car is driven hard) but does not include turning rotors if needed.
Alignment: Unless you have uneven tire wear or your car is pulling to the left or right on level highway ..... forget it. It costs as much to check as it does to do it at most dealers. Dealer specials run $80-90 usually. Don't have it done by a shop without proper equipment and ASE certified mechanic or the cure will be worse than the disease.

Bottom line: if you don't need battery or brakes, you should be able to get your car in good shape for about $100 and under 1 hour at dealer.
