WHAT COULD IT BE? PLEASE HELP
i hope the FIRST thing he did was open up the hood and disconnect the battery..>!!!

hell, even if you have to break off the positive (or) negative terminal, it's STILL cheap the replace the battery..'

that being said, something "fried".. no doubt about it..get it to an electrical place or the dealer...

questions though are,

did he install any electrical devices..??

did a "friend of his" install any devices??

did a REAL bonafide shop install any devices..??

now how much damage there is remains to be seen. electrical shorts in a car's dash is BIG trouble, and COSTLY..

IF the car is ALL original (no devices installed) then the insurance company may pay..he should contact them right away to out in a claim. if the car is under warranty, he "might be covered".....

let us know how he makes out.

no he did not. but he sent his car to the dealer and they said the control board melted. it was due to an aftermarket remote starter that the dealer had installed when they sold him the car. so that company that installed that remote starter will be charged for the damages because they crossed some wires they werent suppose to. thats why it shorted out ant fried the whole control board!

ok this is good that he did not install anything incorrectly. however, he is still out of a ride for a while, unless the dealer had a rental car or loaner car for him. i think this is the second thread now where someone's car became a piece of toast..!!

i think the other thread was either a stereo install or remote starter, but i cannot say for sure.

well, glad to hear that his car will be fixed....just how long he must wait is another story to be told...

wish him good luck, and thanks for the update.
