I am the proud owner of a 2007 Camry LE with 59,000 miles on it (as of earlier this month - my 2007 Kia Optima was totaled).
It came with the JBL stereo system, but one of the rear speakers is blown. So I pulled those out (so I don't have to hear the crappy sounds) until I decide what to do.
Reading this forum, I'm quickly realizing that aftermarket parts don't
seem to play well with JBL system, for various reasons (the amp handling the crossovers, the 2 Ohm system, etc).
Here is my 2-part question:
1. Are there places (besides Toyota, who want $350) to purchase a stock JBL 6x9 for the rear? If not, are there decent 6x9's I can drop in there (besides the Critical Mass ones, I don't have that kind of $) that would work? Would a standard 2 ohm 6x9 (I know Infinity makes them) work and sound well?
Or am I just better off replacing the HU, Amp, and speakers and rerunning new wiring? Obviously, this is more expensive, hence my first question.
2. If I do purchase a new HU, I've been looking at either the Erisin that a lot of people here seem to have (
http://www.erisin.com/erisin-es866c-...-gps_p167.html) or a Pioneer (
). What's the opinion here? I know the Erisin would give me Nav capabilities, but that uses the SD card, and would I be able to use both the USB (for MP3's) and SD Card at the same time? Would I be able to easily wire the Erisin to an aftermarket amp? Not using the JBL amp would mean I wouldn't need the PAC TATO, which would be nice.
I know there are pros and cons to either question above, so I'm looking for others' opinions who may have done/considered both.
Thanks (and I've spent WAY too much time on this forum since I got my car - already making a list of mods.....)
