Stereo opinion wanted

I am the proud owner of a 2007 Camry LE with 59,000 miles on it (as of earlier this month - my 2007 Kia Optima was totaled).

It came with the JBL stereo system, but one of the rear speakers is blown. So I pulled those out (so I don't have to hear the crappy sounds) until I decide what to do.

Reading this forum, I'm quickly realizing that aftermarket parts don't seem to play well with JBL system, for various reasons (the amp handling the crossovers, the 2 Ohm system, etc).

Here is my 2-part question:
1. Are there places (besides Toyota, who want $350) to purchase a stock JBL 6x9 for the rear? If not, are there decent 6x9's I can drop in there (besides the Critical Mass ones, I don't have that kind of $) that would work? Would a standard 2 ohm 6x9 (I know Infinity makes them) work and sound well?

Or am I just better off replacing the HU, Amp, and speakers and rerunning new wiring? Obviously, this is more expensive, hence my first question.

2. If I do purchase a new HU, I've been looking at either the Erisin that a lot of people here seem to have (http://www.erisin.com/erisin-es866c-...-gps_p167.html) or a Pioneer (
Amazon Amazon
). What's the opinion here? I know the Erisin would give me Nav capabilities, but that uses the SD card, and would I be able to use both the USB (for MP3's) and SD Card at the same time? Would I be able to easily wire the Erisin to an aftermarket amp? Not using the JBL amp would mean I wouldn't need the PAC TATO, which would be nice.

I know there are pros and cons to either question above, so I'm looking for others' opinions who may have done/considered both.

Thanks (and I've spent WAY too much time on this forum since I got my car - already making a list of mods.....)

Hello and congrats on the camry!

I ended up dropping Alpine R series 6x9's into my rears, i think they have about a 5mm spacer but apart from that they fit fine.. you can pick up the spacers pretty cheap though on fleabay or local auto store etc. probably going to be your best option besides replacing the lot.

Lot of good comments on both the erisin and the pioneer HU's, there's a thread on the erisin somewhere in the forum if you can find it.

Thanks. Do you have the JBL system and if so, how did you wire the Alpine R's into the rear deck? Did you bridge the lows and hi's?

I bought some adapters to fit into the rears which I think should give me enough spacing.

I found a thread (the Ebay GPS thread) and read through all 50 pages yesterday. It seems like the Erisin is nice, but has some quirks. I don't care whether it looks OEM or not, I guess my question is more that the Pioneer is a known entity, but it seems that for the same price I can get some addt'l features with the Erisin (bigger screen, nav, etc).

Mine is non-JBL, but i replaced my HU anyway and ran totally new wiring and amps etc too.. not sure about bridging the wiring, hopefully some of the other guys on here can help with that.
