12v access under seats or at center console - adding heated seats

Hello,

I am looking for help in installing my aftermarket seat heaters.

I don't particularly want to mess with the power supply/feed for the airbags.

They are of low enough amperage to piggyback the power feed off of the cigarette/12v charger in the center console near the drink holders.

Doesn't anyone have an easy way to remove the center console or gain access to the 12v source that would allow routing from under the front seats and under the interior carpet for a clean install?

Any help appreciated.
-Mike

Find a guide for radio installation since doing so requires disassembly of the cup holders. I haven't taken the car apart in some 5 years so I don't even know where to start.

How many amps do the seat heaters need?

Have you thought of installing a fuse and taping the power to the electric seat? It is already under the seat and at the switches. Plenty of current on that line, not used till you move the seat...

Hello,
Thanks everyone for the replies.

I like the above idea best--however where do I get a wiring diagram, or perhaps you know what wire is the 12v source (w/o me pinning it out)

Any help further greatly appreciated.

I don't have a wiring diagram (Luna may though...) but am wondering where you picked up the aftermarket heaters? I've considered that for mine.

On the standard LE / XLE seat the 30 amp power is a light green wire and the ground / return is a white with black tracer wire. If you have a Hybrid, check first...

With or without a wiring diagram, if you don't pin the sockets/wiring you are asking for trouble. Always pin everything just to be safe.
