Installing an ipod into a stock deck (03 camry)

I want to install an ipod cord into my stock deck but it does not have an Aux out port. How would I go about splicing in an ipod cable into my radio?

Or do they sell kits that I can purchase and install?

thanks in advance for any feedback!

Which dash unit do you have? If it's the single disc cd player + tape unit you can buy an adapter on eBay relatively cheap that plugs into the back of the head unit where an external 6-disc changer unit would plug in. For the 6-disc in dash + tape unit you'll have to buy a little more expensive adapter.

USA-spec pa15-toy

Something like that is what you're looking for. There's also another way of adding an aux input to your deck but it involves opening it up and soldering a connector to the motherboard. Not recommended if you have little or no soldering/electronics experience.

I have done this on my personal Camry radio, it's the jbl 6 disc in dash unit on an 03 Camry. With my unit, the solder points were on the cd changer module inside the unit. On the cd changer motherboard, I believe near the connector that leads to the main board, there's a few test points labeled something like "L AUDIO" and "R AUDIO". I don't remember exactly what they said but it was obvious once I saw them. The way it works with my unit is i put the unit in cd mode and when an mp3 player is plugged in, it over-rides the output from the cd player and when it's unplugged you hear the audio from the cd playing.
