But every so often the starter either will not crank or it will sound like someone is rapidly turning the it on and off.
Anyway, It's only done that 3 times since I replaced the starter. Here's the weird part. Every time it does that, the stereo and the clock get reset. Any ideas?
I took it to a shop to get diagnosed, but it was acting fine at the time, so the mechanic wasn't able to find anything. He suggested that it was probably the cheap starter, though. Any other suggestions before I take the starter out again?
Thanks!

something is wrong with this website...i replied, and hit submit, but then it gives me some sort of security tokens or something...error...anyone else getting this error..???
ok, that being said...
sometimes we "cheap out" and when we do, it bites us in the ass...take out that starter and put in a REAL starter.
cheap parts will simply NOT HAVE quality...
since this problem manifested itself AFTER you installed this cheap starter, what would be a reasonable thought here..??
if this problem was going on LONG BEFORE you installed this cheap starter, then i'd say it was not the cheap starter...
so change it out....try OEM if you can..i think the warranty is better as well..
