I want to push the rears out on my 09 se. i got 225/55/17's all around but the rear is just a little sucked in. What do you guys think will do the trick? i heard that 5mm is the max we can run in the rear. Is it def safe if I run 5mm on stock studs?

Yes you can. If you can get 4 turns on the lug nut (which you can) it's fine. And yes, anything above 5mm you'll need extended studs. So long your torque everything to proper spec nothing will go wrong

if you get 10mm spacers, you can get them with extended studs that come on the spacers itself. I believe when i tried on spacers with stock se wheels, 10mm for the rears and 5mm in the front worked real well. It depends on how much you really want to push them out

There are slip-on spacers and adapter/bolt-on spacers. Slip on spacers will work with stock studs up to 5mm. Anything above that will require extended studs. Bolt on spacers are the kind that have studs mounted into the spacer and then you bolt the spacer to the stock studs. Problem with bolt on spacers is that anything below 25mm will require you to trim part of the stock studs that is sticking out in order for the wheel to sit flush (UNLESS your wheel has backspacing for the studs to stick out into.) I've been running 20mm bolt on spacers for almost a year or more. So long you torque everything and check them once every few months, everything should be fine.
so i got the 5mm spacers from h&r today and put them on in a matter of 10 mins...thye make the rear look better for sure...5mm was enough for me
