I always thought it was a problem with the electronics, but I recently heard from a friend that he heard it's actually something you can set with your keyless entry remote (?!).
Does anyone know anything about this, and how I can set it back so that park unlocks the doors again? I couldn't find anything in the user's manual. Thanks.

you didn't look hard enough, it's definitely in the user's manual. Starts on page 24 in the 2005 user manual (should be same or similar in the 2006 manual). there are 4 modes and can be changed by doing the following:
1. Press unlock to make sure all doors are unlocked
2. Turn ignition to ON, do not start car.
3. Within 5 seconds, PRESS and HOLD the lock button until the door ajar light flashes. It will flash corresponding to the mode: 1 flash is mode 1, 2 flashes is mode 2, etc.
4. Turn ignition to OFF.
You will have to repeat step 1 - 4 to change mode again to get what you want.
Mode 1 - Automatic locking with shift lever
Mode 2 - No automatic locking/unlocking
Mode 3 - Automatic locking/unlocking with shift lever
Mode 4 - Automatic locking with shift lever and unlocking with ignition switch.
you are probably in mode 4 now. this will reset every time you change or disconnect the battery to mode 1. IMO, mode 2 is best. Too often the automatic locking/unlocking annoys me or gets in the way.
