It rattles when i drive, idk if its the clip or lid itself.. i remember another user saying they used felt or something to pad the lid or clip to stop the rattle, anyone know where its rattling?

Open the lid and stuff a blanket on top to keep the lid full up while driving. If the noise shifts further to the back it will be the lid. Under a mat in the bottom of the hole, are the mounting bolts, check the torque.
Is the noise due to body flex or temperature change?

no, i KNOW its the console.. i can hear it rattle directly from it. i don't expect it to be anything serious, its just a small annoyance. and i can feel it rattle a bit. the whole car doesnt shake or anything, the console is just so sensitive.
you need to locate source of the rattle first.
pretty often part on top of the dash with clock and pass. airbag light can be it.
pull it up, disconnect wires and see if rattle will go away.
underneath of that thing air docks-they can rattle too.
use pieces of packing foam or silicon gasket maker to kill these noises.

I have been complaining about the center console on mine for a year. The tech(s) can not locate the problem....
I have isolated it to the sliding lid and it pops with body flex and temperature change. The blanket method is how I was able to isolate the source.
I have made seven, 160 mile trips to the dealer(s) for this and other problems. Three of the trips were to fix problems and nothing was done, even the replacement power steer pump that the service manager said was received "just schedule it and it will be fixed".
Now back to the dealer, again...

I had a missing bumpon from my lid that caused the rattle. Just a few millimeter of space between the lid and the console would cause the annoying noise driving over an uneven surface.
I'm not sure if it's the same issue, but this is how I fixed my problem.
I bought some 3M Bumpons from Home Depot and peeled/placed it under the lid. No more space for the plastic on plastic rattle, No more noise!
usually i do that will, but when there's old people (grandparents) in your car they complain the music's too loud (at least mine do lol) so i want to figure out how to fix it.
it's been doing this since my grandma bought the car brand new in 2003. if i remember right, it did it on the drive home from the dealer.
and it just started again the other day.......

qng001 has the right idea if that is in fact the source of your problem. I had the same rattle coming from the center arm rest/console lid. It is a few millimeters of space between the lid and the console itself when it is closed. I chose the same fix and went to buy some little 3m rubber bump stops. stuck a couple on there and the lid now closes tight and no more rattles.
