My 2011 SE wiper blades are starting to tear on the tips.Just about all wiper blades I have had in the past have lasted longer than 7 months. Has anyone else had this trouble?

there are a few causes for this. the glass has some grit on it, and as the blades swipe, they get torn.
when wipers are allowed to continue working, and NO rain is on the windshield, they get dry. wipers need the water as lubrication. by the way, if anyone allows the wipers to continue working on a dry windshield..??? the wiper motor can burn up, as it has to force the blades to work against that dry glass.
many factory direct wiper blades are not as good as they used to be. i get "about" 6 months from an OEM blade. what i do is, i buy the RainX brand, that look like winter wiper blades. i think they are called the "Latitude"..???? cost "about" $18 each. and i get well over 6 months with those, sometimes a full year..!! but otherwise, i change them out at or about 6 month intervals myself.
stay away from other stuff like the silicone wiper blade. Those silicone wiper blade have life time guarantee but they don't work as well as the rubber and will ruin the surface of your glass.
Man this is perfect as i didnt want to start a thread just on wiper blades.
One if you still have your awesome OEM wiper blades(not aftermarket or dealer cheap blades) you can simply replace the 8-10 dollar inserts and be done with them.
OR you can do what I did an install 2012 Accord wiper blades on my 2009. Not only are they of the same types as OEM(replaceable inserts as opposed to aftermarket crap that was on there) but they are longer(almost touch but not quite) so they wipe more windshield. And again when they wear out (usually around 30-40k) it will be just another 8-10 bucks to be back to new.
Many dealers have a warranty on the inserts. Ours offers a 12 month/12,000 warranty on wiper inserts...if they rip before then, they're replaced for free. Check into that first.

where do you all live? my wiper blades run me 3 years at least. i just swapped my original wiper blades on my 2005 sienna. and they werent even that bad.
i ended up buying blades from costco last week. goodyear brand (rainX rebranded) for $8 a pair. you guys should look into that if they still have the deal going.
3 years? Yikes, you must run them dead, or not drive much. The most I've gone so far is just over a year and that's because the car only has 6500 miles. My husband goes through them twice a year, but he drives 20,000-30,000 miles a year and drives in every kind of weather-hot and buggy, snowy, pouring rain, etc.

Yeah but bugs don't help much. We live in a very buggy area and we have to clean our windshields daily in order to keep up with the amount of bugs. Obviously, we don't have time to do it every single day, so there ya go.

^ I find that dish washer detergent works wonder on bugs. Leaving your glass clean... windshield glass I mean. LOL But the detergent also removes the RainX stuff.
I used to love using detergent in the summer. Cheap and it works better than windshield wiper stuff. Now I can't, the current car have the spray thing for the headlight too.
^ nope... I used it like 2 summers on my Camry, didn't have any problem. I guess it would clog up if I use too much detergent.
the bugs was what get me to start using detergent. works better than the bug windshield fluid. With the rainx bug windshield fluid, my wiper still smears the bug's gut on the windshield.
I guess snow makes a huge difference. I live in san Diego, it barely rains out here lol. Plus my cars are garaged so they are kinda protected from the sun and cracking.
