I just purchased a Factory Nav Unit (E7024). I want to install it in My 2007 Camry LE. My LE came with just a Radio, w/CD (No JBL). Can Make the install and will it work properly? Will i need any new connections? will all the features work?

I can't say for certain but from what I've read, its pretty difficult to install an OEM Nav into a non-JBL. There is no amp built into the radio, from what I understand. Its basically a tuner. You might be better off getting one of the non-OEM Navs, like the Erisin. Its plug and play with non-jbl. I have one and its pretty damn good.

Have you looked at the Erisin mentioned above? That's why so many people went with it - to keep the original look.

I'm sure you could wire up an amp, but that seems like a ton of extra work just to make the OEM nav work.

I know it's a bit much, but i made the mistake of buying anav Unit on Ebay from a guy in Washington State. paid 500.00 for, and bought a camera. the unit sucks. i just bought the OEM unit form a friend at work who didn't get a chance to install it... his car was stolen

So i'm stuck with two units, and don't want to invest in a third!

Ok. So the first thing I'd do then is figure out if the Nav unit does any preamping. If not, you're going to have to get an amp. Does the Nav unit have rca outs for the stereo? If so, run those to the amp, then wire the amp up to the speakers. If not, you'll have to get an amp with high-level inputs, and hope for the best....

You have stepped in to a world of pain my friend...

I completely understand the need and want for installing a factory NAV, but the amount of parts you need to get in order for it to work properly, and the time it takes are seriously not worth it when you can just go buy an after market, plug and play, that looks just about the same as factory for $400. Just my two cents, and I feel I know a thing or two about it since I did this exact install...but, if you still really want to go through with it you will need the following:

- JBL amp - this is what sends power to the speakers, there is NO power output from the head unit itself. Even if you have after market amps and speakers, you will need to run it through the JBL first.
- Overhead microphone - for phone and bluetooth and voice commands.
- Steering wheel bluetooth controls
- Nav unit GPS Antenna - Nav won't work unless it can find your car.
- Navigation Software Disk - Maps and info the NAV needs to function
- Wiring Harness including the different style connectors since they are not the same size as the factory radio

Once you assemble all the parts, get ready to do some serious amounts of splicing and reconnecting in your car, all of which is going to take a while to do it properly and troubleshoot if there are any problems. If you want a shop to do it, try finding one that will install it for less than $200. Don't think that is going to happen. Whatever you decide I hope it works out for ya. Good luck.

Why would you want to trade your erisin if it is in perfect working order for a Factory Nav that you will have to purchase extra parts for and do a custom wiring job? Is the erisin not as good as people say?

I was being sarcastic. I have the JBL so the wiring wouldn't be a nightmare.

is this company reputable and their products quality? ive been looking for a digital tv tuner for my truck and coupe and these are the 1st ive seen....

I have an 2011 SE and just install OEM E7024 last month. Since u dont have JBL. you are going to need amplifier and new wiring harness with mic (if u dont have blutooth right now). I have all the resources to share with you. Once you decide you want to do it, let me know. Its not easy but with my help, should be easier. I dont want to put anything on the forum since its a long list and need some documents that I can email you and even willing to share my phone so give you instructions. Again if you are serious let me know.

ya know man i've gone to bat with these dishonest pathetic chinese people, I would not consider them reputable, and you can expect zero customer service, but their camry HU looks great, sounds great, and has its lil problems, but in the end after you debug a lil, its a great product, i'd pay 500 for it.
