Rear Defroster troubleshooting help

Hello,

Im trying to figure out why my rear defroster is not working. I bought the car used and it had tinted windows so I figured the rear defroster was disabled to prevent it from damaging the film.

I checked the fuse and its there, the relay is there too so Im guessing (and hoping) there is a physical wire connector somewhere that is disconnected.

Does such connector exist? Where can I find it? Im guessing somewhere in the trunk but its too cold out to spend time searching.

I appreciate the help!!

Leo

What do you mean by not working? Tint does not affect the rear defrosters unless somehow who ever installed them cut one of the defroster lines somewhere. Does the light turn on? If the light is on, how long do you wait to see if it works?

Just because you have tint doesn't mean the defroster was disabled. I have 20% tint on my back window and my defroster works just fine.

Likely it's a broken defroster line, there are repair kits out there that are easy to use to fix the line. You can test the lines with a meter or sometimes you can see if they are discolored (my 95 Mustang has this problem).
