Looking for Tires for 2007 Camry SE

I need to buy new tires. I am looking for a solid all-season touring tire. I live in the upper mid-west where it snows/ice storms. I currently have Cooper Touring C4's (215/55/17 - I believe) and would like to try something different. My price point is no more than $170/tire or less.

Any suggestions or websites to check out? Thanks in advance.

http://www.discounttire.com is your best bet, great price, and free shipping. I buy my tires/wheels from them. Great place to buy from and they usually have deals or rebates too!

I recently bought Nokian WR G2 tires for my 2005 Camry SE V6. They were the #1 rated Performance Winter Tire by Consumers Report in November of 2010. The WR stands for "winter rated".

Winter is only getting started here in Calgary, so I can't say yet how they are to drive on. I plan to drive them all year round.

The WR G2 should be better in the winter than "all season" tires, but not as good as a pure "winter" tire. A pure "winter" tire has softer rubber and needs to be taken off in the spring and put back on in the fall. A pure winter tire would be something like the Nokian Hakka R.

check out Pirelli P4 Four Season.
I had 225/55/17 on my camry. 140 a pc I believe.
close to 25K on these tire (and TX heat and concrete roads are not eay on tires) and still got half of tread left.
Michelin MXV4 were gone by 20K...
Best tires I ever had and I had more than few different sets.
Great traction on wet surface, good in light snow (we don't get more than 6" of snow here ), comfy ride, good braking.
check survey for this tire.

The Continental ExtremeContact DWS performed the best in winter conditions in Tireracks test compared to other top UHP All Seasons. They are also ranked number 1 in surveys on Tirerack.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=124

I put on a set almost 2 years ago and paid $144 per tire at Discount Tires (That ncluded nstallation). So far they have been better than I expected, especially in the rain. I was even able to test them on ice last year when San Antonio had an ice storm. While I watched 4x4s on summer tires spinning on 4 wheels without moving, I cruised right on by. I only had issues on very steep hills out in the hill country, but I was still able to traverse them without getting into trouble.

So far I have put 25k miles on them and they still have more than half tread left, and all three letters of DWS are still showing on the tread. (You'll understand if you read the tire description)

Discount Tires did not have any in stock when I first went to purchase them, they had to order a set which only took 4 days. It was the same when my mom bought a set earlier this year. The guy at Discount Tire says they sell the DWS so fast that they are always running out of in store stock.

Edit: I have no idea why that link I posted to tirerack goes to a different web site.

This is kind of a stupid question, but I want to save myself some trouble of making calls atm.

Who do I call or where can I go to get my tires mounted if I order my tires online? Would any tire shop do it? and do they include the free alignment from your experiences? What can I expect to pay?

If you order from Tirerack you can contact them and they will ship your tires to the nearest authorized Tirerack installer (They have thousands world wide, including Discount Tires) They can help you with everything including warranty. If you choose, they can also mail you the tires directly and you can take them to your preferred tire shop or even the dealership.

However, if you have a Discount Tires/Americas Tires near you, just go to them. They work very closely with Tirerack, and their prices are only a little bit more than Tirerack's, but their price already includes installation. The good thing about Discount/America is that if they don't carry a specific tire that you want, but Tirerack does, they will order the tire from Tirerack for you.

Edit: Also, I don't think you mean free alignment, you probably mean free balance and rotation. I know that if you order from Tirerack, and have them installed at Discount/Americas you can buy their free lifetime balance and rotation for only a few bucks more. (I think it was around $20 or so)

Another vote for the Continental DWS. The best rain tire I've ever had and very decent in snow. Not snow tire good mind you but very good all-season. The tire is responsive but rides well and soaks up the bumps. It's not the sportiest tire, I've had tires with more ultimate dry grip but is a very good match for the SE's suspension. I will buy more of these tires when the time comes.

I put in another vote for the Conti extremecontact DWS. I've put them on a few different cars over the years and they held up well to the abuse that they were given.

Dry grip is the only thing I would improve on this tire. On many road surfaces around here it is easy to break traction in second gear under full throttle (30-60mph, like when getting on the highway the tires will easily spin and scream) However, my last car was an RX8 with Extreme Performance Summer tires and I am comparing the DWS to those, so they may actually have good dry traction compared to other All Seasons.
