For all GEN 6 automatic camrys

hi guys,

for those of you who has a GEN 6 automatic tranny camry... i have a question for you.

the location right below the shift lever, the grey plastic panel...below the PRND/S letters....i've noticed it gets really hot. is this because of the lighting for the PRND/S letters or is my transmission working super hard? or is this normal?

thanks.

The transmission is several feet away in the engine bay and attached by only a cable to the shifter. If it were hot enough to feel through the shifter cable your car would probably be on fire, lol.

im not sure if the gen 6 is like this but i know that in the gen 5 there is a heater duct that runs along the bottom of the center console and it tends to heat up the e-brake & console box
