2009 Camry LE Rear Bumper

About how much would it be to replace a damaged rear bumper? Can it be fixed?

Thanks,
John

How bad is the damage? If you have serious cracks or pieces missing you're probably better off to just replace it rather than worry about any repairs cracking in the future.

Modern cars these days all have plastic bumper covers... which make it very difficult to repair. If you have a small dent to medium sized dent, you may be able to push it back out.

Large dents, forget about repairing it and just get a new bumper. Most body shops do not even bother trying to repair it and will just replace the bumper cover.

If you are going to replace it yourself, definitely get an OEM bumper cover. I've found that bumpers from ebay rarely ever fit right, and shipping damage to the paint is pretty much a guarantee. An OEM bumper will likely run you ~$200-300, and another ~$200-400 for a quality paint job.

At lease return of my 2009 LE I had to decide on rear bumper damage:
Got moderately hit by a jeep on parkway after dodging a loose wheel (freaky story), on to the point: 3 ligit scratches 8-12" long and a dent and CRACK at corner of bumper bout size of a fist.
Auto body compounded, filled, buffed and painted bumper for 250$ (They also buffed and polished whole car for me, so that 250 may have been 300

When all said and done, it cleared lease return with no problems...if I OWNED the car I would have rather gotten a NEW bumper, because it never really had that good as new look to it.
Weigh your costs, weigh your desires and decide which to go with. A good auto body may hook you up, you need to get some local word of mouth, maybe see their work and get quotes
