06 solara question

Just curious if anyone can point me in the right direction?My wifes car has a light on that looks like a tire with exclamatiin point in the center,i figured it was low tire sensor.Car feels like brakes are dragging or something?Car just had timing belt and one coil pack replaced..Any suggestions????Thanks

Actually the gas mileage is pretty bad.Trans acts funny too!Acts like its real sluggish taking off..

It has 123000 mi.It was a rental car..Runs good,it just feels like something isnt right..No codes or anything..Left rear wheel bearing is growling and needs replaced..

I have no idea,i make sure its full..I guess im afraid to change it.Seems like everytime i do that,im replacing tranny soon there after..(on other cars)..How hard is it to change on these cars??Im very mechani ally inclined..

I believe you have to remove the front sub frame with engine and transmission to replace transmission. I am "mechanical" too but with the advent of front wheel drive vehicles, I stopped doing a lot of things I had been doing since the 1950s. I would like to see the car makers start to make at least some units with rear wheel drive and independent rear suspension.

Yeah, it's a huge PITA to replace the trans.

BUT, I would recommend checking the fluid. Is it a dark brown, or a clear red? If it's the former, then I highly recommend changing the fluid, it does wonders for shifting performance.
