5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hello everyone, due to trouble with my pops I can no longer drive his 2009 lexus es to go to school and work. I had to rent a ford focus for a week just to keep my job and make it to school. I went to the dealership and found a 09 Honda accord; as I was leaving the lot, I found my car: 2009 Toyota Camry le. So I guess there truly is a silver line within every dark cloud. I am glad I found this forum and this is my first car forum I signed up for. I came to y'all to seek guidance as I begin my road to Awesomeness!
My holy grail list:
1. K&N drop in filter* (my friend is a mechanic at toyota and he told me not to get this)??
1. 09 camry se black mess grill
2. 09 camry se lip kit
3. Eibach springs 1in front & 1.4 back
4. OEM fog lights
5. Camry Se spoiler
6. 18" varrsteon et37
This is the before picture: (sorry for the quality, it was taken with my camera phone straight from the lot; dont worry tho, i am a photographer. Be sure to check on the upcoming extra crispy photos)
Welcome good choice on the car.. I had a 2010 Accord and it sucked!! Love my cam. Pull up to your dads house and show him you got the same car at half the cost.
Your friend may not recommend the k&n because it does not add any performance to the car and there is always the risk of soiling your MAF sensor.
Perhaps you could add to the list of mods to do: debadge the rear.
Thanks! I shoot with a canon 20d. I carry a 17-40L f/4 and a canon nifty fifty (f/1.8). Body is gripped and I have a alien bee ab800.
Yea, the sensor is exactly what he was talking bout. I must say; yall know yall stuff! And the debadge with commence next week. Already read the DIY ;D
When I purchased the car, it already came equipped with tint. Not sure the percentage but it looks about 40 in the back and really really light in the front. Any darker in the front and ill get a ticket. But i do love tint so we'll see. I'll admit that I miss that ride from that all black Lex, but it so much satisfying knowing I have made my first independent purchase and in debt like everyone. This is my first major purchase!!
Ah, I also carry a nifty-fifty from canon, along with the kit lens + 70-200L f/4. Really thinking about getting the 17-40L, though. Just can't decide between that or upgrading the camera body.
I know how it feels man, enjoy the car! I drove around a 2002 c240 for a while until it started getting multiple oil-leaks, misfires, and electrical gremlins. Jumped ship for reliability.

What body are you shooting with? I would take upgrading to full frame over that lens anyday. Don't get me wrong i love the lens; it's just the full frame has too much much potential. And the f stop its only 4.

Glass is always the better investment, unless they change mounts that lens will rise in value almost as fast as inflation, where as a body will be worthless in 5 years. If you need low light performance and have an old body you may see a major benefit in upgrading the camera, but otherwise glass is always the way to go.

Welcome to the forums. There are plenty of threads for you to comb through to get more information, ideas and answer any questions you may have as it probably has been asked before.
This will also now be your update thread. Any updates to your ride will all go here.

I agree 100%. Glass is definitely the better investment. There are people who take nice pictures probably just as good as the high end bodies with an old camera but its the glass that makes the difference.
