Solara convertible after market head unit questions.

I couldn't find an answer to this question in searching other threads and hope I don't offend anyone by creating this one. Does the solara convertible dash (mine's an '08) with JBL system accept the same dimension after market head units available for the hardtops? I wanted to hear from some convertible owners as to whether this is the case, what brand(s) they preferred and problems that they might have run into during or after installation. I have already purchased a Scosche cable adapter for the JBL system. Thanks for any suggestions to help me make sure I get the right HU.
