The Erisin is pretty nice. I had it installed for about a week (I then installed a Pioneer - and have my Erisin for sale - long story). I can't speak for the Alfa Otto, but have heard of a few people having issues.
The Erisin has it's funky things (like having to reset the steering wheel controls periodically), but for the price and for the functionality, it's a pretty big steal.

Yeah I will later tonight. I think I have one of the Erisin installed, then I'll get one with the Pioneer installed too. It's not quite done, as the dash kit for the pioneer doesn't site completely flush with the dash (the screws on the side of the stereo make it so it doesn't line up perfectly with the opening in the dash kit - nothing my dremel can't fix, just haven't had time!), so everyone will notice it.
It too has it's quirks, but I like it, and I got a steal on it from a liquidation place here, which is part of the reason why I took the Erisin out so quickly.

Why I ask is I may go a similer route !!!! Even if its not exact, I would like to see the general fitment to give me more of an idea, I tried a search and could not find a pic of a pioneer or an alpine or Kenwood installed in a gen6. And I am weary of ordering something thats an unknown brand !! I have a friend that works at a stereo shop that would help me with the install for a few beers !!
Thanks again.

Yeah, I understand. It's a fairly simple project - but if you have the JBL you'll need the PAC TATO to turn on the amp and another adapter to retain the steering wheel controls.
Here's the Pioneer installed.
Here's the Erisin. It's a great looking unit, but this is the MP3 screen, which wasn't going to work for me.

What is a video lock??
I read about the Pac Taco adapter for the JBL (which I have), but I did not read about an adapter to continue to use the steering wheel buttons. Is this necessary for ANY aftermarket unit???? Esrin, Enon, AVIC etc??
Thanks

With the Pioneer (or other "name brand" aftermarket units - Alpine, Clarion, etc) they require you to tap into the parking brake line to watch videos, to prevent you from watching videos while the car is moving (when you put the parking brake on, it sends a signal to the stereo that you're in park). There's a $7-10 part sold on eBay that bypasses that, allowing you to watch movies while the car is moving. It's technically illegal, and technically dangerous, so be careful. I don't believe you need anything like this for the Erisin.
The other adapter required is again only for name brand aftermarket units. It's the Metra Axxess ASWC (
). I used the Metra, but it is required to use the steering wheel volume, forward/back, and mode controls. Again, not required on the Erisin/Eonon/Alfa Otto.

You should have looked at a Rosen. I love mine for my 09 Corolla. It looks OEM & works great. I didn't like the large empty area around the aftermarket HU like the Pioneer & Kenwood. I have a Kenwood installed in my 07 Matrix but it has a 2-dine space just for that shape.

I thought about looking at others, but I got a steal on the Pioneer (I paid $170 for the headunit) and have loved the Pioneer's I've put in other vehicles, so that made the decision for me. It's def a lot smaller, and I liked the way the Erisin fit in the dash a lot better, but cost/benefit, I like the Pioneer. All the Rosen's I saw were over $1k.
