blown jbl speaker

2002 Camry XLE.

I am pretty sure passenger front door speaker is blown.

Any idea where I could get a replacement? that will fill without any mods or brackets etc...

btw since I have JBL, the stock speakers are 2 ohm.

thx

Could shop around Crutchfield JUST to find a speaker that will fit and then try to find the speaker you want somewhere else since crutchfield likes to overprice by quite a bit. Also, you might want to ask around once you do find a couple speakers you like. Just to make sure they are a good brand, size, etc..

Also, I couldn't really find a factory replacement for that speaker, but then again I didn't really search very long.

Hope some of that helps.

Thx. yeah i tried crutchfield. Very few 2 ohm speaks and those seem pricey.

I'll put a WTB here in case someone upgraded their audio.

I highly doubt it's the same size as the Gen 6, but if so, I ripped mine out and have them lying around. PM if you find out they're the same.

Probably similar enough to the Gen6 that its worth a try.

My '04 will be upgraded in a month or so. Just ordered my new speakers, mounts/brackets/amp...

You don't need to use 2-ohm speakers. You can replace those with anything that fits. Those JBL OE Toyota systems are nothing special.

The other option is to check EBAY and your local salvage yard. Pull the door panel off and make a visual note of the dimensions. Then check ebay since Toyota uses similarly sized speakers in multiple models.

I bet the local installers might have some laying around from upgrades. Visit a car audio shop and see if you can score a freebie odd speaker.

Ebay is also full of speaker adapters so that you can use almost any 6x9 or 6.5-6.75" speaker in the door or deck. This way, you can replace the front pair and improve on the sound quality.

Its sad but my stock '99 Camry LE stereo/speakers blows away my '04 XLE's JBL system.
