auto rear-view mirror question

Hello, My dad has a 2006 camry without the auto-dimming mirror/ compass. He had previously owned a 2005 camry which had the mirror which was totaled. He always talks about how he wishes he had the mirror from his old car in the new one. My question to you guys is, Is the harness already there for the auto-dimming/compass mirror in the cars that didn't come with it? I'm thinking about picking one up from a salvage yard and wiring it in for him for Christmas if its possible. I am not new to automotive wiring seeing as how I drive a Volkswagen . If you can wire one up then should be no issues. I doubt the harness is built in but might be wrong. I wired one in from a maxima to my 2010. Just make sure when you get the mirror it comes with the pigtail.

on my 2005, harness is not built in... though it came from the dealer with the auto-dimming/compass mirror. It looks to me like its a dealer installed option, as the wires for the mirror uses T-taps to tie into the wiring on the driver's side kick panel.
