gen 6 with projectors here..
i hate to start a new thread, but i wanted to find others with the same car/projectors that have switched to HIDs.
i'm specifically looking for an HID conversion kit that looks Absolutely factory stock, no cheap aftermarket blue/aqua hue. i've seen a lot of pictures and some cars in person that have ebay 4300k and still look cheap, i'd like to know which brand is truly White oem bmw looking.
for what it's worth, my jeep had 5000k. although they were not like 6000k, they were still Obviously aftermarket.
i understand they're the whitest of the color options, i mean company to company.
i've seen quite a few 4300s that still have some blue and clearly don't look oem.
anyone with pics of their 4300s? looking for a company that makes good 4300s.
If you want to have OEM look, do a retrofit and use Philips 4300K 85122+ bulbs (or 85122). These are the bulbs that many cars with HID from factory are using. There will be absolutely like BMW, Acura, and Lexus. FYI, OEM color 4300K will be white with a hint of yellow. If you want pure white, go 5000K though there is a little bit less lumens than a 85122+, but you won't notice it.

I have 4300k in mine and they are a little blue, but that's due to the reflection in the projector. I'm considering taking them out cause the light output is way worse than with the stock bulbs.
I think the bulb in this video is H11. Real Philips 85122+ bulb is D2S base. Your light will be similar to the below picture if you do a retrofit. That's my 35W setup for S2K projector. It's hard to find a good dark place to take pictures here.

sixsix what do u mean? HID output was less than stock halogen?
Let me see if I can explain it in a way that makes sense... The physical "brightness" of the hid bulb is obvously brighter than the stock lights, but the actual usable light that reflects on the road is worse. With the hid's the head lights look like a nice pretty white and appear to be very bright, but then you get behind the wheel and notice that the total light output is not that great. I think is a combo of the projector and the bulb. The hid bulb is a little big longer than the stock bulb and the part of the bulb that produces the light is set a little more foward in the bulb...so when compared to the filament in the stock bulb, the hid bulb is set foward a little bit more. I played around with the hid bulb on and moved it in and out of the projector socket and as you slowly move the bulb out, the light output gets a lot better. So it's like the bulb and projector are fighting each other cause their not in the optimal spot. Thats my take on it anyway.
If you want to flush out color get 55w 5k. Or if you want 35w stick with 4300k. I use ddm tuning for my bike and eBay shit on the car. Never has problems with either of them.

thanks sixsix, i'm new to projectors but if thats the case.. you've got me thinking.
so do you also feel that a retro would be best? i just really like to see at night, city or country.
king, i wasn't necessarily asking who had Problems with theirs... but rather if they are a True white oem look. do u have pics or a video to share?
