What is the felt looking stuff on the intake manifold it has this at several locations this if form the top looking down

is this something used during mfg or something? if someone doesn't mind looking to see if theres look like this or not

it is put there by the factory, i mean just look at the way it is in place....

it is there for either sound deadening or to lessen any vibration, or both...are you worried about something..???

yeah, looks like a sloppy installation, they could have done it neater....
