Fuel system service after 40K miles?

Hello guys,
I have a 2010 Camry SE I4. Me and my wife use this car for a HWY driving which averaging about 90miles a day. I change the synthetic oil every 7K or 8K miles. Now the Firestones service guy where I get my tires from told me that Toyota recommend a fuel system service between 40K-50K miles car. To be honest, I kinda feel the acceleration different lately with my I4, maybe I have been driving my '10 Rav4 4 cyc, that's why I feel the different on the acceleration when I push the pedal?
Anyway, is it true?
They said they charge $89.99 which is cheaper than the dealer. (And I have an extra $10 off coupon)
Oh in addition, they also recommend the batter cleaner for $12.99 for the the acid build up etc.
What do you think? Can I do the battery cleaner myself? They told me if you don't do it right, whatever solution you use to clean it when you spray it, it will mess up the timing belt and whatever get spray on. I though cleaning a battery is as easy as using a damp rag?
HELP!

don't do it. I've seen mechanics clean the throttle chamber w/ a rag causing CEL and idling issues.

far as the fuel system service, there is nothing in the recommended service schedule about ANY type of fuel service; i would want to see what they will actually do..... at that price i would imagine they would dump a bottle of fuel injector cleaner into the tank and possibly clean the throttle body and/or do a pressurized fuel rail cleaning

to be honest at mileage that low and a car that new i would waste the money..... i would recommend using a fuel system cleaner though, just not overpaying for it.... go to your local auto parts store, buy a bottle of lucas fuel system cleaner (about $6), go to the gas station, dump it in the tank, and fill with gas...... done.... you just saved yourself over $80.... buy the camry or the rav4 something nice or even go out to dinner lol

far as the battery service..... toyotas have exellent electrical systems so they usually dont cause batteries to leak acid out the posts and cause corrosion.... to be safe though i would recommend cleaning the posts/terminals about once a year or so; to clean disconnect the battery terminals (10mm wrench or socket; neg off 1st, on last) you can use a solution of baking soda and water or go to an auto parts store and buy a can of crc battery cleaner (about $3-4); spray all over the posts and terminals.... if acid is leaking it will turn from red to yellow...... wipe down with a rag or paper towel... if you want to give it a good cleaning buy a battery brush (about $3-4).... they have an inny brush for the posts and an outy one for the terminals.... this will take any crap off the metal and give a better connection

to protect it you can use vaseline or a can of crc batter terminal protector (about $3-4)..... apply to posts and terminals and reconnect

so you will spend about $12 on buying everything you need, but mind you will have enough cleaner/protectant to last you for years and do multiple cars

shops like the one you went to may or may be not run by good guys, but theyre always in the buisness of making as much $$ as possible....... if you can do some of your own maintence you: have the satisfaction of knowing you did it, save alota $$, and kno its done right

good luck!!!

A bottle of quality FI cleaner is all you need. Pick it up at your local autopart store. Redline SI1, Amsoil PI, ChevronTechron(concentrate), Gumout Regane, 3m, BG44k... are some that I recommend.

Stick with a toptier fuel and worry less. http://www.toptiergas.com/

Tell your Firestone service guy that he is a useless liar. I wouldn't trust that shop.

You can clean your battery all by yourself. They sell the cleaner and protectant at the local autoparts. Or, just hit it with a wire brush and wipe it down with a little grease. Its not rocket science. Superglue a couple old copper pennies about an inch away from each battery terminal.

Change your air filter if you haven't already.

Thank you guys for the info and suggestion. That is exactly what I want to hear from you guys. I suspected that's what they wanted to do to get more $$ from me. I figured the fuel system cleaner from the local auto shop would be sufficient enough. He explained to me so well bout cleaning the fuel injector and stuff like that. I almost fall in his "trap". But I still have $10 coupon to use...
As far as battery, yes I can do that..
