Gen5 2006 MANUAL transmission

We just recently purchased a 2006 base model with the 2AZ-FE engine and yes, a manual transmission. I like stick shifts.

Anyway for the life of me I can't locate the transmission drain and fill plugs. Chilton's gives the proper torque specs for each but conveniently leaves out a picture of its location. I was under there for a few minutes and nothing really stood out. I usually look for a bolt that takes a 3/8" square type plug...where you would use a 3/8" socket adapter for instance.

Can anyone direct me on where to look?

If it is the same as the auto, it's on the driver side of the engine bay (underneath obviously) i believe it is a 10mm hex bolt.

If you want i can try and get a picture tomorrow, my car is on jack stands for the winter so easy access underneath. Let me know.

That would be great. Go ahead and post a pic, maybe include an arrow to indicate specifically which bolts on the auto. I can compare that to the manual I have, and if it's different I'll post a pic of my own.

Thank you for the link and picture. I was checking through my Chilton's manual again. It shows a very good pic of the 4-cyl Camry with auto transmission on page 1-4 which clearly shows the drain plug. The only pic I found for a manual was a small one on page 1-25, which is a bit hard to tell which is which.

Thank you again to both of you for the help.
