engine harness wire splicing on a 2011 camry

I have a 2011 Camry at work that the abs/wheel speed sensor plug got ripped off, on the harness side of the wire loom. The plug on the sensor side of the wire is fine. The plug on the harness side tore off. My work got a used harness, and they want me to splice in those wires. I'm pretty sure Toyota does not allow any wire splicing. Does anybody have any info on what Toyota says about splicing wires. I'm not looking for personal opionions. I need to know what Toyota say's. I'm trying to contact them about it, but talking to the service manager is like talking to a rock.

Thanks

Correctly spliced wiring is used all the time in the collision repair industry. Many wiring harnesses are not modular so replacing the whole thing is simply not feasible. I would not have any issue correctly splicing the sensor. The wires spliced should be soldered, heat shrink wrapped and then wrapped in good electrical tape plus any harness casing the OEM harness had.

I'm told that airbag wiring should never be spliced. It's replacement only on them.

if you work at a dealer call tech line for confirmation as far as what they want you to do.
they might want to know what happened to the connector.

If you want to know what Toyota says, you need to talk to Toyota directly, not on a discussion group. If you know the wire color code then you can reattach and yes, solder, shrink, and then shrink again.
