I need to purchase a steel rim for a 07 Camry due to a bent rim. Does purchasing OEM make a difference? Are there local chain stores that sell steel rims?

I rather doubt you will be able to buy a stock steel wheel from any retailer other than Toyota. They will order one for you but on examination it is going to be Toyota. Try a wrecking yard in your area before spending any money.

Dealer or a junkyard would have oem locally. I use discountiredirect.com, prices are decent, free shipping. Here is a link
I also use toyotapartseast.com Here is a link

absolutely makes a difference in purchasing OEM, especially if you are replacing only one wheel. aftermarket steel wheels are often heavier, and more often than not your OEM hubcaps will not fit on them.

Like the others said, junkyard and dealership would be your best bet for a local OEM source. I second toyotapartseast.com for an online OEM source.

Tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com are good online sources for aftermarket steel wheels but keep in mind your original hubcap will not fit.

Also try Rock Auto, I've seen reconditioned OEM rims on there for sale.
