Mass air flow sensor is acting up. I dont know why.

I have a takeada short ram intake with it extended to under the battery.
I have cleaned my original sensor with MAF cleaner and it did nothing.
Then I bought a new sensor (DENSO) original and it still throws me the error code. I Have a scanguageII So i reset it everytime. Yes I unplugged the battery everytime I touched the sensor. (touched = removing or cleaning). I am at witts end. HELP!

That's most likely a vacuum leak. If extra air gets into the engine after the MAF that the ecu doesnt know about the engine will run lean. If it was a MAF then it would most likely be accompanied with p0101

turns out the two hose clamps before the sensor had become REAL loose. tightened them up and cleaned everything one more time and the problem seems to have gone away!

p0101 is Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Range/Performance Problem. Is that the only code? And are u absoutely positive that there are no vacuum leaks downstream of the sensor? I'd clean it up with MAF cleaner and reset the code and see what happens.
