Angry Did I blow my new 6x9's?

So I just got a brand new paid of DB691's, and have been playing around with them a little. I noticed that I was hearing a little bit of static (though it was just bad quality music) and a LOT of rattle (which honestly wasn't a surprise since I got a lot when I had my subs). So I took the back deck off and tried to pinpoint the rattle. I then unscrewed the speaker and I hear a LOT of what sounds like rattle coming from the speaker itself. I've dealt with some stuff like this before and I thought I understood it well enough. Guess I was wrong . Following is the tech stuff.

DB691 specs are the following

Overall Frequency Response 35Hz-22kHz
Nominal Impedance 4 ohms
Power Handling (continuous) 125 w
Power Handling (peak) 300 w
Efficiency 93 dB

Which I paired with a Rockford Fosgate P200-2

With the specs at:
100W x 2 @ 2-Ohms RMS power rating (the factory test says they're rated at 130Wx2)

I then wired them in series as shown here:
http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=35

I also used the calculator at the bottom of that page to do the following calculation

4ohm/ 2 speakers = 2ohm resistance wired in series (?)

FINALLY (And the part that most likely screwed it up)

I bridged the connection so that the + from the speaker is in the positive for one of the channels, and the - for the speakers is in the negative for one of the channels. (I followed the diagram on the amp)

I figured this would give me 260watts @ 2ohms resistance total (split 130 per speaker).

Either way the right speaker (sitting in the drivers seat) sounds awful. What did I do wrong?

I can hear the rattle from the right one without it even being mounted. I'm 99% positive it's coming from the speaker itself. I removed the other from the bracket and it sounds fine (for now, i'm afraid to turn the stereo back on)

That's what i'm trying to figure out haha. All I did was wire in series like in the diagram. I then bridged the speakers like I said I did.

I did not turn them up insanely loud or anything. The only thing I messed with was the EQ knob (turned it up and down just to see what it would sound like). I haven't even touched any of the other knobs at all.

are you super sure you wire them right?
if you just bought them just go return them they should have a warranty right?

I got it from a discount store and their warranty policy sucks. I tested the coil for the speaker on the right and it is super scratchy. I'm assuming it's blown

I double checked all my wiring and it matches everything that i've been reading.

The speakers are wired exactly the same as in the diagram.

Are all my numbers checking out? That's what i'm most concerned about.

Wait a sec...you bridge the amp down to 2 ohms. You are not supposed to do that with that particular amp.

It's possible that you damaged your amp and speakers. I do not know what effects bridging the amp like that might be.

That would definitely be a problem. Any recommendations on how to wire them up properly?

If you bridged the amp below 4ohms, I don't know what effect there will be because the amp is not stable at 2 ohms bridged. It could damage the speaker, amp, or both.

Hook one speaker to each channel...there's no way for you to really get more than 100W (50W x2 @ 4ohms) out of the amp unless you get some 2 ohm speakers or another pair of the same style speakers.

Yeah, I just bought some Kappa's that are rated at 2ohm, so hopefully I won't have to worry about any of this crazy wiring or bridging.

It really sucks that I blew one speaker (40 bucks down the drain, essentially) , but I figured i'd cut my losses and chalk it up to stupidity.

Thanks for the help anyways.

Well this is assuming the amp still works correctly.

You said you wired it in series. The diagram wiring is for a parallel circuit.
You need to recheck your connections.
