2010 Camry Hybrid specifics

Hey guys - Just got my 2010 Camry Hybrid on xmas eve. had a few questions...

I've been reading through the forums trying to understand the differences between gen 6 and 6.5, and the fact I have a hybrid is confusing me even more when it comes to differences in bumper, headlights, LEDS, projectors vs HID, and everything that comes along with all that.

I have already used ToyotaNation to find out that my dealer was obligated to include the front license plate bracket with my car at time of purchase, and so they're sending me one (my license plate was screwed directly into the front bumper! ) Anyway that saved me 60 or so bucks, so thank you TN!!!!


Ok so I have a few questions, and I've used the search function and read through a million posts over the past few weeks, and I figured I'd start my own thread. If there are answers already on here, feel free to just link me to them... but if not, please let me know what the story is!

I'm interested in replacing the main grille on the front bumper. From what I've gathered, the 07-09 Gen 6 had all interchangeable front grilles across XLE, LE, SE, and hybrid, and for the most part SE grilles were the most sought after, but a lot of users thought the hyrbid one looked classy, correct? Seeing as I have a gen 6.5, and I can clearly see my hybrid bumper is different than the other gen 6.5 bumpers, is my grille interchangeable? I want to go with a more SE-style black grille (my camry is silver)

it LOOKS to me like there is a frame on all the other 6.5 bumper grilles around the edge that the hybrid doesn't have. is this correct?
what are my options? also, you'll notice the hyrbid pic i linked to has fog lights installed... all the fogs I can find online are fit for XLE/LE/SE slots, not the more verticle hybrid bumper slots. any insight there?

i also noticed people don't really like the look of the all-clear hybrid taillights, but then others say they're sought after. should i change them out for ones that are more-standard mostly red? are other 6.5 taillights interchangeable? do mine already have LEDs?

sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance for your help. I tried really hard to find the answers myself, the next step being drive down to the dealership and find the guy who knows all the specs across the board for 2010 and pick his brain.... but that would require actual human interaction. NO THANKS

Personally, I find the Hybrid grille to look just as nice as the SE. It's hard to make a hybrid look sporty . Secondly, I am pretty sure only the Hybrid fogs will work with the Hybrid bumper, but I could be mistaken.

Hard, but not impossible

OP, I just installed fogs on my '08 hybrid. The fogs I ordered from ebay came with the bezels I needed for the fogs. If you don't have any luck finding them online for the '10, then I know your dealership should sell them. Do you know if your car is already prewired for fogs? I haven't seen under the hood of a 6.5gen (because hopefully they changed it), but I had to pull my entire air intake system to get to my firewall, and even after that is was still a bit of a pain. On top of that, I had to dremmel a hole underneath the steering wheel for a switch. Totally worth it though.

so what i've gathered here is, the grille is not replaceable or swappable with any other models.

the fog lights also are not available for 2010-2011 except if you order them at time of purchase with your vehicle...

leave the taillights alone?

if anyone knows about 2010-2011 specific fog lights / bezel kits, please let me know, or point me to a user who's done the mod.
