03 Camry Towing Capabilities

I would like to tow our Touring motorcycle across the country on an aluminum motorcycle trailer with the Camry, its an 03 with the I4, cannot figure out if this is a good idea or not. Has anyone done much towing with theirs?

I have not seen anything on a Camry other than a bicycle rack. It was always my understanding that front wheel drive really wasn't meant for towing, although people in Chrysler mini vans do it all the time. Touring bike, what maybe 600# plus a trailer, you'd be 1000 or so I would guess. Is there anything in the manual? The route may mean something too, towing thru Ohio where it is pool table flat would be quite different than towing that same load thru the mountains of West Virginia.

I have had Camrys and Accords for thirty some years and in all that time I have never seen a Camry or an Accord towing anything. Regards

lol.... my family has been towing a pop-up trailer (about 1300lbs and no trailer brakes) with chrysler minivans for 13 years and it drives just fine asides from destroying the cheap rear shocks and brakes..... gotta love chrysler quality. i even considered towing it with my 97 deville when i had it because the towing capacity apparently was over 3000 pounds lmao.... it did have load leveling rear air suspension and 300 horsepower but i doubt it wouldve liked it very much

i have seen gen 5 camry's with a hitch before.... i believe the owners manual says 1000 pounds towing capacity but i would check

You will be fine if it is at or under 1000lbs. I've seen a few Camry's towing stuff. Before i started modding mine i was going to put a hitch on and tow my snowmobile.. Might be more stress as it is the I4... V6 would be better.

But it is doable if under 1000lbs

Thanks for everyones advice, I will attempt to keep total weight at 1000 or less and no OD either. I am thinking I should get a tranny cooler as well. I wonder if making sure I have quality ceramic brake pads would be worth while...
