was there a TSB for an 06 with a steering wheel clunk?
Not a huge deal, but my '06 XLE has a steering shaft clunk, I'm assuming that it's the collapsible shaft making the noise. I notice it, I don't dare mention it to my wife who drives the car.
I'm at about 60K and I have read about the problem before, I was just wondering if there was ever a TSB on it.

Yes there are 2 different fixes, many TSB's for different years. In summary the first fix was grease the intermediate shaft with a kit Part# 04007-76133. The second was replace the intermediate shaft entirely. This one happens to be a TSB for the 07 but it may apply. I'm sure its on here somewhere. The shafts are about $100 aftermarket, more as an oem.
There is a difference between a "fix" and a "TSB". I can probably live with it if I need to, but if it's a TSB I'm assuming that I could get it done at no cost. I had a Jeep that did this same thing and I thought about pulling it myself but I understand its pretty difficult to get to. It looks pretty tight back there.

an easy way to fix this problem is to mark with paint where the steering shaft meets the intermediate shaft under the dash, then remove the 12 mm bolt holding them together, disconnect the intermediate shaft and depress it a few times down into the lower portion of it. This is move some of the grease around inside of it and usually stops the clunk, then just reconnect the shafts in the same place you removed them from, otherwise your steering wheel will be off. Just make sure when you have the shafts split that you dont turn the steering wheel otherwise you can break the spiral cable

Would that be a good thing to do after i grease it? I have the kit, need to do it again. What exactly do you mean, compress the splines?
the intermediate shaft will compress into itself, its like a sleeve. when you unhook it you will see what i mean, I've fixed quite a few of them with out the grease kit but since you already have it, it cant hurt to put more in
