Toyota Moving Backwards

Hi I have a 2010 toyota camry with 39,000 miles. I just bought it about 3 weeks ago and started having problems turns out it was the wire harness in the transmission. Its been another two weeks since I havent received my car back.

To top it off it cost 800 in parts and labor which the power train warranty did not cover, I called toyota to complian but they did not cover it, so I had to use my own warranty on the vehicle and its making me go through so much hassle.

I feel toyota needs to stop worrying about there accelarator issue and look into there transmissions. After this purchase I will never again buy a toyota I should have went with the honda I was going to get in the first place I regret not going that route.

Nevertheless this should have been a recall or covered by there power train since its internal inside the transmission and they have to pull the tranny.

If anyone knows of a number or email I can call I want to speak with someone high up there to let them know of my concern so this wont happen to other people, or atleast make it a recall.

The 5year/50,000 mile warranty is still in affect so Toyota should fix your vehicle under warranty. Call the eight hundred number for customer service in Torrance,CA and tell them your problem. Be nice. No one likes to be assaulted over the phone.

I already called that number and i was being super nice and very patient for two weeks already even without a rental car...all they told me was that it wasnt going to be covered because it passed the 36,000 mile warranty and its not covered under power train since its a electrical harness within the tranny Im going to get my car back today FINALLY but just makes me sad that toyota didnt even cover it and I had to go through the hassle of going through my warranty and if I didnt purchase the warranty I would have been screwed.

Some 2009 – 2010 model year Highlander, Venza, and 2010 – 2011 model year Camry vehicles equipped with the U760 automatic transaxle may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0713 (Transaxle Fluid Temperature Sensor “A” Circuit High Input) stored in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The transaxle wire harness has been revised. Please follow
the repair procedure in this bulletin to address this condition

Does this look familiar? This only pays 2.6hrs warranty time so I don't think transaxle R&R is needed.
It did expire at 36K because it is an electrical issue and not a powertrain issue.
And that is how it reads in print. So that's it.
Sounds like they're taking their time at it, tho.

hehe Honda seems to be losing its touch lately. But maybe drive a Hyundai or one of those Chryslers imported from Detroit.

That said Tech's got a point. If OP's part replaced is the same as described in the TSB then maybe take a copy of the TSB back and see if OP can get a partial refund. But yeah a harness fix that costs $800? That really sucks.

My service director said that if i ever feel that there are issues with my car i need to report them even if they are come and go kinda issues. He said if we have proof that you brought that problem to our attention while under your 3 year 36,000 mile warranty we can still help you. If these issues come back after your warranty is over we can still help you out without anything out of your pocket. I guess it depends on your dealership.

That isn't always the case. It's a good recommendation though.
