Bought an 05 camry 5 speed manual. Which oil?

Sold my 99 4runner to buy a 2005 camry 4cyl 5 speed manual with 80k. Loved my runner just needed better mpg's. I did the paper work today but the dealer is going to repaint bumper. Was kinda scuffed up , not bad but that's how we made the agreement. So I went pick it up till Monday night. Anyways on my past 4runners and maximas iI would run amsoil products with good results. Which motor oil does the 2.4 iike. ALSO for those with manual trannies, which gear oil are you guys using. Thanks

Tints! and lowering springs!

Yes i just got the Legacy in the fall for my winter car. I love it! Kind of crappy on gas mileage though, but so much fun in the snow.

For the trans use redline MT90 and for the engine Mobil 1 0W30 or 5W30 and a high quality filter like a Purolator Pureone, Bosch premium, or Napa Platinum.

Also It would probably be good to change out the engine coolant. You need Toyota Super long life for that.

I've heard good things about redline, where do you guys buy it. Also coolant looked new. Very clean with red color/tint.

Some local parts stores (Pep Boys, Advanced Auto) carry the Redline MT-90. This and Amsoil have good reviews.

For engine oil check out Walmart and their 5qt jugs.

Thumbs up

Mine has always had Mobil 1 synthetic (gallon jug from walmart)-- ~$30 per change w/ filter since we(mine anyway) uses 3.8qts.

Car never used so much as a drop until I used seafoam in the crankcase @ 165k, now I'm adding more than I'd like in between changes still gettin 30mpg during my 93 mile commute, so things could be worse I guess.

I'm running Motul in my 5-speed trans.. It had the stock fluid until 150k, now w/ 40k on the Motul its still much better than the oem fluid.

Motul is a great engine oil as well. A lot of my buddies run it in their track cars.

Before royal purple i was running Mobil 1.
