Does a base 2005 camry have keyless entry

I bought a 2005 base camry with power locks and windows. But they only had 1 key with no keyless/fob. Is the base camry suppose to have keyless/fob entry? Thanks

If by base you mean the LE, then yes. i had an 06 LE and it had keyless entry. Or maybe it was an option that i chose..... i dont remember, i bought it brand new back in 06.

There is one trim level lower than the LE ...which is the base or ce. Not sure if that was an option or not though.

My 06 LE also has keyless entry on the doors and trunk. You have no key fob or alarm? That's strange if so.

i'd say base model would not have the option, I have seen a few base model (07-08 )prius' without smart key. it looks like the smart key but the toyota logo on the key(fob) is blacked out, not silver. those models must dock the key in the dash, that would explain the whole dash docking requirement. its for the lowest level models.

I have the original 04 Camry brochure and the lowest lever for that year is the I4 LE. That may have changed in 05.Regards

Yes, I read somewhere that to make the camry more affordable, in 2005 toyota introduced the base camry. No keyless and a few other minors weren't on the base. Mine does have power windows, locks, even has the electro chromatic gauges that became standard in all camry's in 2005. Also base only had 4 ext colors available, temporary spare tire. Those are all the differences I read up on.
