Unhappy 2002 Camry jerks and stalls

2002 Camry is jerking and bucking at high speeds then stalls after coming to a stop. Will restart immediately if you give it gas. Then I must keep pressure on accelerator at all times even while stopped or car stalls. Shut car off and let sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Once restarting must give it gas, but then car runs without stalling. However has no trouble on cold start.

Most likely you need a throttle body cleaning. Just cleaned my MAF and Throttle body, I4, no fun, now I need parts!

You might also have a fuel pump with a gummed up inlet strainer, a failing fuel pump and/or a discharged filter[part of the pump housing] that is contaminated. Ten years is a long time for a fuel filter. I look at the TB first like like frisco suggested. Run a bottle of Chevron Techron or Gum Out complete fuel system cleaner through the system. Regards

Did you get the problem solved ? my mom in laws 02 (with a v6) does the exact same thing at random times. She's had it into the dealership a couple times and they've never been able to figure it out. She usually has to sit about 20 - 30 mins before it'll start up and be totally fine again. Weather/ rain/ hot/ cold/ hwy/ city/ slow/ fast, nothing makes a difference as to when/ where it will happen.

No, still doing same thing. Had a lot of suggestions but nothing has helped. I'm ready to get rid of it because it's not safe. It stalled out when braking before turning left. Thought I was going to get broadsided.

Tried the Chevron Techron, didn't stop problem. maybe the pump but there is no fuel filter to change. It gets costly to change parts and still have same problem

Have you checked to see if the EGR valve is carboned up are sticking. I have replaced a few that were sticking due to carbon build up on the EGR shaft.
