5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just purchased 2007 XLE V6. I love the car but there are annoying squeaks from the dashboard. Do you guys also have this problem? If so, any recommendations on how to stop the squeaks?
Well, I called a Toyota dealer near me and they said the warranty company wouldn't cover squeaks. I would think that certified car with 1 year comprehensive warranty meant that it covers everything that is not right with the car. I guess that is no the case.
I took the car to the Toyota dealer where I bought it from. I had a good experience with the used car manager when I bought the car so I engaged him in the situation. The service tech said what the first dealer said, its not covered. However the used car manager agreed to pay for the repair. What a relief. I am so glad that the manager was a good, straight up guy.
They ordered the parts and theye're supposed to come in next week. We'll see what happens then. So far, I'm very glad to have bought the car from them. If things go through without a hitch, they will be our dealer of choice going forward.
If you have not already do a search, there is a TSB out on this issue njerald, posted a bunch of them. Here is one 07 Dash Rattle Noise TSB finally out

yup, under warranty, in the 1st year it was all covered under warranty, 3 visits to the Dealer to remedy the rattle/squeak, they had a TSB on it, and they put more ahem foam or stuff. No squeaks/rattles since. Whatever it was, they knew of it.
good luck.
