07 Camry TCS, VSC, ABS, Brake lights on
Hey,
My 2007 Camry SE has been acting weird lately. has about 49k miles on it. Lately most of the lights that come on and go off have been staying on randomly. Usually its the brake, tcs, abs, and vsc. They'll come on and stay on but if i shut off the car for a bit they'll come on and dissapear like they normally are supposed to. Every now and then this used to happen where some of those lights would come on. Now it's been happening a lot lately. It happened last weekend even the check engine light came on i tried cutting it on and off and nothing. Drove about 30 minutes cut the car off for 5 then cut it back on and it went away.
I'm trying to figure out what's causing the issue. I can only think of a few new things that have occured. Two weeks ago I was coming back from new york, late night and I was in a rush so I was going 90-100 most of that 2 hour ride. When I got back into philadelphia I saw a mustang GT and I wanted to see if my 4 cylinder camry could keep up. So i was upshifting on my automatic from 1st to D. We kept coming to lights and I kept starting back at 1. Now I hardly do that but when I used to do it even on my old lexus es300. I would shift around 3-5 rpms. and especially on the camry it would shift smoothly. That night though it seemed to take a while for it to shift to the next gear and drop the rpms back down. So i don't know if me doing that was the cause of these lights constantly coming on.
Also, i had HID lights put into my car about two weeks ago. I already had the ballast and all but my previous HID bulbs had burned out so I was using the stock bulbs til i finally decided to buy new ones. I don't know if these new HID bulbs are causing some power failure or something to cause those lights to come on. I don't have a relay for the HID's i tried a relay when i first installed them and the lights wouldn't come on so I removed it and just upped the fuse a little for the headlights and fog lightsto make sure i don't burn something out.
I also tried jumping my ford probe a few weeks back tried to do it a few times. I doubt jump starting another car would be the cause of it.
Anyway these are the things that I can think of that may effect it. Lately i've been letting my car sit i've been driving my 91 ford probe since i'm trying to learn how to drive stick. So i don't even touch my cam much but I try to keep it well maintained. i mostly use the cam for long trips now or trafficy days on my way to work. Sometimes i don't let it warm up i don't think i need to since its fairly newer and in better shape plus doesn't take long to warm up.
Sorry if i'm rambling guys, any help would be most appreciated I don't have an OBD2 scanner to see what the read out would say but i'll try to borrow one from my friend.
The only time i can remember those lights coming on and staying on was in a previous post I had but turned out it was a loose battery cable on the battery. Since someone had rear ended my car and the body shop was working on it they had removed the battery cable. when they were done they put it back but forgot to tighten it. So it was acting really crazy.
