5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've been doing mods on my car for almost 3 years now but don't have everything in one central place where people can see how everything looks together, so in this thread I'll post what I've done and what I'm planning to do.
I'll be updating this over time with pictures, part numbers, the places where I got the parts from and a link if I made a DIY or documented it in a specific post.
If anyone has any suggestions on mods I should do or try to do, I'm all ears.
What I've done so far:
Exterior:
35% tint all around
Smoked Eagle Eyes LED Tail Lights
Replaced rear turn and reverse lights with LED bulbs (taillights are entirely LED)
Painted Fog lights with Yellow Stained Glass Paint (recently cleaned with a razor and re-painted)
Built a pair of Quad Projector headlights (Morimoto H1 Bi-Xenon and RX-AFS both 6000K), Quad LED DRL Halos with custom built superflux LED turn/park lights. Retrofit Thread
Front Turn signal bulbs replaced with LED bulbs
Interior:
All Interior bulbs replaced with LED Bulbs (Except glove box and trunk, I forgot about them and have had the leds sitting around for over a year)
Modified Shifter Plate with translucent Characters (P D R N, etc) to allow LED light to shine through better
Changed steering wheel leds to Blue.
Removed green caps from radio LEDs to make them Blue
Replaced gauge and needle LEDs in Instrument Cluster, revamped the entire faceplate of the Cluster to make gauge opaque and numbers and lines translucent DIY: Instrument Cluster LED
Replaced stock door sills with Blue LED door sills
Installed Button near side view mirror controls and ran wire through firewall to headlights to separately control DRL LED Halos
Upcomming mods:
Buy a new set of Eagle Eyes Tail Lights, cut the plastic welding to open them up, then build and install superflux LED Boards for turn signals and Cree 3W boards for reverse lights
Install a USB port somewhere between driver and passenger seats (perhaps next to the cig lighter).
Buy a set of Rims (was originally thinking TRDs but open to suggestions)
Install wood dash trim (not sure how it would look in the SE but I do have a cherry wood trim kit)
Replace LED inside driver side door lock button
Install LED/heated/folding side view mirrors
Replace LED around keyhole in steering column (I don't believe anyone's attempted this one yet)
Replace stock air filter
Replace stock exhaust

dang that's nice! would love to see some DIYs on how to do that!
especially to the dashboard and instrument panel/cluster
Thanks! I added a link below the picture of the cluster for the DIY thread I created when I did it. It took a lot of time, a microscope and an exact-o knife to invert the cluster faceplate.

how about lowering springs?
x2 on TRD wheels, so many different aftermarket choices out there! I wouldn't spend that much on TRD wheels personally.
hahaha, rainbow eh? Actually, it was an embarrassing moment, but my friends sister (younger) was in the back and she said ooooh look at the pretty rainbow. But I will keep it that way, it's a little more entertaining than just plain blue.
I'll definitely look into other rims besides TRD...
Here's the mau5head, he programs different animations into it during live shows:

Nice work on those headlights, im tryna come up with something unique with my headlights jus cant get a grip on what... i was thinking red halos? but more pics like everyone said. keep it up!
I just redid my cluster, the red came out more as a pink and I was getting some hazing for it haha. I probably should have left the needles green but I can always change back when I get bored of this.
The picture isn't high quality as it was taken with my phone in the middle of the day without the plastic housing to shield the cluster from light, so the true blue color is kind of faded.
