07 Camry Hybrid "VSC" light on power lost to brakes

I currently own a 07 Toyota Camry Hybrid & the check "VSC" light came on and I lost power to my brakes. What does the light have to do with the power to brakes?

However, VSC lights issues have in all probability been covered many times in the past. Hmmmm, that's weird. I turn my VSC off every day in winter time and to be honest I haven't noticed any difference in braking.

First step is to pull codes. The TCH uses a unique setup for the brakes - kind of like the ABS pump - which seems to more troublesome than usual Toyota practice. Symptom there is frequent cycling - and that's bad news, as a new replacement is a $1700 part.

With other stuff, wheel sensors are a common fault - but it could be a number of other things, some quite spendy. In any case, pull the codes, and that will guide you to the right area...
