Post 04 Camry Maint Light

hi i was driving my fathers car and the maint reqd light is on. the car has 5,XXX miles. how can i reset it w/o going to the dealer?

I ran into that. It's letting you know it's time to change oil. The way to clear it is in the owners manual (in your glove box I hope).
If I remember correctly it's something like holding down the odometer trip button while starting the car. Check the manual to be sure.

Make sure the odometer is set to mileage and not trip... turn the key to off and hold the odometer reset button. turn the key on. you will see the odometer do something like this... 000000 --------
then it will go back to the mileage... its reset
