2005 Camry Rear Suspension Noise
I took delivery of my new 05' Camry with 207 miles because it was transferred from an out-of-state dealer. When I inspected the car it had deep scratches in the lower right body panel behind the rear wheel. The dealer said they would fix it the next week. On the way home it sounded like broken rear shocks - a big boom-boom with trailing rattle when going over small bumps at low to medium speed. The noise is similar to when I had new air shocks put on my Park Avenue but one of the shocks was broken.
I took the car into service the next day and they said it had broken clips holding the bumper. When they gave me an 05 rental Camry LE as they did the repairs, I noticed the new car occasionally had the boom-boom sound on certain roads and bumps but not as bad as my car. The rental had 1200 miles but
rattled in the left a/c vent and the left seat belt mount. (common Camry rattles according to reports on the net).
Now that I have the car back, the boom-boom and rattle from underneath the rear are still there - its like they did nothing to fix the problem.
I love my car and want to keep it but these noises from the rear suspension put a big damper on my 25,000 dollar investment. How can they sell a car that seems so perfect otherwise ? The same struts used in thr front do not make this kind of noise.
Is this normal for new 05 Camry's, is it something I have to live with or do other owners have normal suspension ?
Thanks,
Deban
