Just wondering what the opinions are on remote starters. Any certain models that are better than the others? Ive got an astrostart that ive been very happy with for the last 3 years on my car, but im sure theres better stuff out there now.

I have had a remote start on my 92 for 5 years and running. I went with a Viper, for the waranty and their install shops have to be MECP certified. The other reason was the 2 way remote 750hf...damn what a cool toy. Lastly, the warranty makes it worth the investment. The only prob I had was getting a circuit breaker on the throws of the 5 speed, as I have a manual transmission. It can be done...just takes some electronic knowhow.

i got mine from circuit city. it also has the 2 way remote. it was about $220 installed, but has lifetime warrenty at circuit city (i also had a $100 giftcard to use
i think the brand was an audiovox? not sure...not home right now. they did a good install. and i live on the 3rd floor of my apartment. and i always can start it from my apartment...for A/C or for heat. i love my remote starter. plus, it's always cool to start it when someone is walking by (like eating at mcdonald's and someone walks by your car), and you're about ot leave, start it. EVERYONE always looks scared or puzzled for a few min..."there's no one in the car!!"

but you can get one for like $89. but there's no 2 way remote, so you have no idea if your car started or not. my remote beeps 2 times if the car gets the signal and starts
