5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I installed 16x7 wheels with 215/60/16 tires on my 2003 LE and wanted to put a fifth alloy wheel in the trunk and that is why I came up with that question. Currently my car has a full size spare with OE size of 205/65/15 and I was wondering if the 16x7 wheels with 215/60/16 tires will fit in the trunk fine and if there would be any problems?
my car has the same size tires as you, and it has a full size alloy in the trunk, so I dont see why yours wont fit. My parents old gen 3 came with a donut and a winter tire on a steelie fit in there fine
i don't have a 5th gen camry, but can't you take off one of the four from your car and try testing it in the trunk? if i were to have my educated guess..i'd say FOR SURE yes it would fit.
Yes, I believe all Camry's since Gen 3 should've come with a fullsize spare. It should fit, don't see why it wouldn't. SE and XLE Gen 5's come with 215/60R16 stock. The spare is a steel with a matching tire. You shouldn't have any problems.

don't you see I am too lazy to do that? But now I sure will before ordering the fifth wheel and tire set form tirerack. I was hoping there was somebody with same configuration as me and they had already done the background check.
I doubt you need to do a test fit, since your upgraded wheel size is the same as the SE and XLE stock 16" wheel size. Unless Toyota uses two different trunk pans for the LE and SE/XLE models, which I doubt due to cost and the number of parts.
Also, the alloy will fit because you upgraded your wheels on the "+1" concept, so the outter/overall diameter is mainted, which shouldn't create any problems fitting in your spare tire well.
On a side not, IMHO, I think all cars should have full size spares, but yet too many luxury cars and trucks come with donuts. What's worst is that the spare tire well fits only the donut and will not accomadate a full size wheel.
