USA 2003 Camry Audio Question

Does anyone know if the Camry JBL 6-disc in dash CD changer from a XLE will work in a LE with standard headunit. Do I need any other wires or is it just yanking the old one out and plug the new one in? Thanks!

u might wanna post this on the audio video board too.
do u mean that u have a head unit of a jbl changer and your wondering if u can change your non jbl headunit (in your camry) with that one?
the wiring should work and u shouldnt need any extra wires. the thing is, i dont know if the hookup is the same for jbl/ non jbl systems. if it is the same, there shoud be no prob, but i havent seen the back of an in dash changer so i couldnt tell u

thanks for the reply 04sev6camry. yeah that's what I mean. I know what the changer looks like in the back, I don't know about the standard one. and also, I looked around, sometimes the changer has a built-in amp, sometimes it has a separated one mounted somewhere in the car, or at least that's what I read all over the internet, so I don't know.

I called 2 different dealers, they both said, the wiring is pretty different because the jbl connectors are made for the JBL amp, whereas the standard headunit directly go to the speakers...so I dunno, maybe I will just go aftermarket

i can explain it, but i think i might loose myself, but here i go, the wiring is defferent but not much.
the wires on a jbl system go from the head unit to the amp, and then back to just below the head unit, where the connections to the speakers are. thats where your head unit connect to the speakers, mine does the detour.
as far as aftermarket, its really esy to hook up, with either system (jbl/ non jbl) they (speakers/headunit) connect right below the head unit
