2003 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE vs. 2003 HONDA ACCORD [NEW]..

The new Honda Accord really seems to be rough competition for the new Camry.
I've been through a new '03 Accord and I own a fully loaded XLE Camry with the Navigation; I am still glad that I chose the Camry for quality and luxury purposes. Both cars have their shortcommings, here is what I found:

PRO's for the Accord:
1. Nice Design
2. Nice LED Instrument panel (more luxo type)
3. Dual zone climate control
4. Six disc in dash CD-Changer standard with Navigation option; Camry has one disc behind the Nav system.
5. Five speed auto trans
6. ENGINE ENGINE ENGINE; Honda's VTEC; also has new Knock control system that Camry does not have at all; requires only 87 grade gasoline.
7. Key has the remote built into it like most modern car companes; Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, even Volkswagen has this; why can't Toyota?
8. More Horsepower than Camry's V6

CONS of the Accord:
1. Only Six Speaker stereo, Camry has 8 speakers in 6 locations
2. Old style Automatic shifter, I expected something fancier like the new Altima or of good quality like the camry's
3. NO MONOCHROMATIC MIRROR on the top of the line model; this is something that I really like with my Camry and I just cant believe that the new Accord lacks it
4. No LCD display for Automatic Climate Control (nitpicking)
5. Trunk lid looks like Godzilla sat on it
6. No rear air ducts like camry XLE has.
7. Side Curtain Airbags only available on most expensive Model.
8. Doesn't drive quite as smooth as the Camry.
9. No Center Dome Light. WHY!

My Summary:
Though the newly redesigned 2003 Accord has many unique qualities that set it aside from the also new 2002-2003 Camry's, with the new Accord, you can certainly see where Honda tried to save money -- in many areas. I paid a lot more for my Camry, and though it seems I got less, I really got what I wanted -- A semi-luxurious great quality ride with many highline vehicle perks. The Honda is neat and fast, but really this is a personal preference thing. Hand's down, the Accord should win a beauty contest when compared with new Camry, but Honda should have a more well-rounded automobile. Honda will undoubtely sell the Accord without dilemmas. It's a more Jazzy car. Personally, I think Toyota builds the better quality automobile.

That's my rant, now WHAT DO YOU THINK?????

It's a marketing strategy for Toyota that they don't want to add too much luxurious features in the Camry because they need to put them on the ES in order for it to sell.

And yes, there's just those little things that you'll appreciate after you've owned a Toyota.

I think the new Accord still don't have full-size spare, true?

Even though the new Accord has more power, that doesn't seem to do much for me, Honda is AFRAID to make big leap style changes!!!

Look at the old camry, to the new camry (all new style), the old rav4 to the new rav4 (looks 10x better), then look at the old accord and the new accord (looks the same), the old cr-v and the new cr-v (looks the same).

When I was shopping for a car, I was looking at the 2002 Camry LE and 2002 Honda Accord EX or LX. The Accord proved to be less jumpy with the acceleration (a bad thing) and smaller (both driver seat and others). The Camry however, felt almost like a lexus, but without the leather

IMO, the Camry is still on top
