5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
4-cylinders: In certain reas, 4-cylinder automatic models are equipped as Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV). Equipment causes nominal reduction in horsepower (from 160-154 hp to 151-145 hp) and torque (from 163 to 161-160 lb.-ft to 158 lb-ft). Comes with emisions warranty of 15 years or 150,000 miles from the date of first use, whichever occurs first. Please refer to the Owner's Warranty information booklet for detailed information on vehicle coverage.
So I wonder if you get about the same power if you use Premium unleaded on the V6 as '05 models?
My dad had a gen 3.5 4-cyl. Same thing....That car only had 125 HP, which was down from the gen3.
Premium gas on a car that was designed for regular gas causes a reduction in power, not increase. Unless the car can advance timing on its own past its factory specifications. At least from what I understand.
And I thought it was the other way around. Gen3 had 125hp, Gen3.5 had something like 133hp due to some slight revisions.
