I know a couple of people with the Gen 5's and, no, you won't have ANY problem with the timing chain setup.

For reference, the '94 Toyota pickup I just gave my in-laws to use, has 175,000 miles on it and while it could probably use the chain being changed........(juuuuust starting to make some noise at startup)...........it could easily go to 200,000 miles before I change it.

My Gen 4 belt started slapping the belt guard at about 80,000 miles so I'd honestly rather have a chain anyway.
You'll be plenty happy with that sucker!!!!!!!!!

Timing chains are supposed to last the life of the car - they're self adjusting. Timming belts should be changed at specified intervals. I do mine at every 60K miles.

If your chain on the '94 pickup is having problems, it'd be wise to have it looked at. Also, it looks like the timing belt on your Gen 4 should get changed soon.
