Hello,

Im looking into getting my old car stereo system up in running.

I am planning on using six and a half speakers in door stock locations.

Where can I put tweeters?

2005 Camry LE Sedan.
I think there is a Air bag curtain in A pillars.
That would be a good location if they can go there.

Thank you

Are you using the stock head unit? Is it a JBL? I just went through this in my 2007 JBL wo/NAV.

First off, I'd not put 6.5s in the doors, you'll get no bass. In 2007 a 6x9 fits, I just put JBL GTO series in mine about 2 weeks ago. I put 6.5s in first and I even bought the adapters which I'll probably never use.

No!

I trying to re build an old system I have lying around.
Unfortunately the HU has to be current since I can not seem to be able to find anything older I can trust to be reliable.

HU is going to be Pioneer 80 or Alpine.

I really was not expecting to get much bass from doors.
That is what Sub is for.
No JBL for me.

Three Linear Power Amps.
Morel USA speakers up front.
Where else would I mound front speakers?

Never have been impressed with dash mounting for tweeters that is why I asked.

Thank you

Tweeter mounting

Anyone?

I spoke to car audio person today but he did not see my car.
Can I mount t tweeters in A pillars or is their a Air Bag curtain there?

I really do not expect to get much bass from doors.
Not what I am looking for.
I ran two 4 inch drivers in a six by nice opening in front doors of my old Celica.
No real low bass either.
Not an issue.

Thank you

You can mount them in the Apillars, yes. Whatever you end up mounting on the pillar just make sure the screw isn't too long as to puncture the bag. I think you actually have a good 2-2.5" before the airbag comes into play. The bag is settled near the frame not on the apillar itself. You can also remove the pillar and work with it outside the car for easier manipulation.

Yes there is an Air Bag.
Looks like dash mooting or inside rear view mirror is best
A pillars or sail panels. Do you have the triangle piece near your side view mirror? (I drive a Gen 6 so I can only guess on yours)

Tweeter mounting

It took me a while to see where you had your t tweeters mounted. Looks like a very good spot.
I also found out that they could be mounted in stock locations angled foreword. But I really want them stealth. Seems like this would require modifications to to dashboard grill.
